Get your holiday spirit started and earn cash for your command organization.

Participating is easy
Plywood panels will be available for pick up at Outdoor Recreation Center from 18-26 November. Completed cards must be returned for judging at Outdoor Recreation Center on 29 November between 8 AM - 2 PM. Winner announced during NSA Winter Wonderland December 6. The Deadline to enter the competition is 29 November. Call 901-412-8215 or send email nsamidsouth_MWR@us.navy.mil to enter and schedule a pick up for your card base.   

Open to all commands and base affiliated organizations.

What will be provided:
One, 4’x8’ plywood panel. Finished cards will be attached to fence posts to secure the cards to the ground for display.

Plywood pick-up:
Command / organization representative must pick up and sign for materials (one per command/organization.) Pick-ups Outdoor Recreation (5671 Intrepid St. Millington, TN 38054) 20-29 November.

Turn in for decorated card:
Command/organization representative must bring the completed Holiday Card to the Outdoor Recreation Center 2 December between 8 AM - 2 PM. Please call MWR Recreation Manager, at 901-874-5163 if that is a challenge for any reason to discuss alternate arrangements to drop-off holiday cards.

Holiday card judging:
The judging will take place on Dec. 6.

Christmas Card Decoration Guidelines

In the spirit of creativity and sustainability, please follow these guidelines when decorating your Christmas card:

Paint Restrictions:

  • Only water-based paints are permitted. No oil-based paints should be used on the cards to avoid environmental harm.

Securing Decorations:

  • Any objects attached to the board must be securely fastened to ensure they withstand outdoor conditions and reduce litter.

Lighting and Electronics:

  • Use solar-powered lights or electronics whenever possible.
  • If batteries are required, ensure the battery case is securely fastened and weatherproofed to prevent leaks.
  • If batteries die during the display period, please turn in all dead batteries to MWR Outdoor Recreation for proper disposal.

Materials and Decorations:

  • Use biodegradable or recyclable materials for decorations whenever possible.
  • Avoid glitter, plastic-based decorations, or non-biodegradable items that could impact local wildlife if they become detached.

Weatherproofing:

  • All decorations should be appropriately weatherproofed to withstand rain, wind, and other elements, reducing the need for frequent repairs and maintenance.

Winners will be selected by members of NSA Mid-South Leadership.

Displaying Holiday Cards:
Following the competition, cards will be displayed along roads near gate entrances during the month of December.

Command will be responsible for picking up card from ODR at conclusion of event to store at their facilities.
