Tree Lighting and Drive-Thru Winter Wonderland

Throw on your favorite ugly Christmas sweater, load up the car and prepare to experience a heart warming, magical evening of family fun at the NSA Mid-South Christmas Tree Lighting and Drive-Thru Winter Wonderland Saturday, Dec. 4 (1730-1900.)

Once again our amazing Navy community is coming together for our Navy Mid-South families as only we can. Our cast of costumed characters, from various on-base commands and organizations, have teamed up with Navy Mid-South's own Santa to bring a variety of colossal Christmas themed displays to life and deliver holiday treats by the carload!

Event starts at 1730 with the NSA Christmas Tree lighting ceremony (to be recorded and published as a "Facebook Live event".)  Immediately following lighting of the tree the entrance to the Drive-Thru Winter Wonderland trail will open (approx. 1735) and our welcome team of Santa's helpers will begin handing out goody bags. Drivers are encouraged to tune into radio 105 FM to listen to Christmas tunes along the trail as well as to briefly pause at each Winter Wonderland display to provide Santa's helpers at each station ample opportunity to approach the car-side to hand out stocking stuffers, holiday treats and/or candy to all the kiddos.

How does our drive-thru event work? 

Our Drive-Thru Winter Wonderland trail is a series of colossal Christmas/holiday themed displays including "Giant Command Holiday Cards", "North Pole Train Stop", "Santa’s Workshop", "Toy Land", "Grinch Cove and Whoville", "Candyland", "Storybook Land" and others staged along the horse curve around the Splash Park (1001 Miles Circle Millington TN.) Directional signs leading to the entrance will be highly visible and easy to follow (Savitz Dr. > Hutchins Rd >Miles Circle.) This event is free and open to all authorized personnel with base access. Event is not open to the general public.

This event is subject to guidelines based on restrictions in place at the time the event was planned. This event is being implemented as a socially distanced event. Families are asked to wear masks and remain in their vehicles while they drive through the Winter Wonderland trail. Guests, staff and volunteers all must wear masks if and when they are unable to maintain appropriate distancing from other people.

No pets allowed.

Children will not be permitted to run around.

In the event of inclement weather a decision will be made whether to cancel, or to scale down and move activity indoors. Announcements will be posted to social media website pages.
